Red Polyp Montipora

Montipora – This SPS coral is hardier and easier to keep than the similar Acropora coral. This variety has a light bluish base with red polyps similar to the “Superman Montipora” morph. These specimens are cultured and not taken from the reef.

Montipora need moderate to high lighting and moderate to high water flow. It’s necessary to maintain stable alkalinity, calcium, magnesium, and trace elements. Be sure to acclimate new coral to bright lighting slowly and carefully.
