Mycedium sp. – This stunning chalice coral has been growing in our Biota Florida facility for some time, and we are now offering in-house grown frags.
The Space Invader Chalice is an extremely intense “toxic green” color with yellow eyes. This coral strongly fluoresces under actinic lighting. It prefers moderate water flow and lighting, but shouldn’t be kept under too-bright lighting. This species typically does well in the lower sections of the aquarium. It packs a powerful sting, so give it plenty of space to grow away from other corals.
Like other LPS corals, this coral requires stable alkalinity, calcium, magnesium, and trace elements for health and skeleton building. Compared to other similar species, this is a fast growing chalice. It gets most of its nutrition from symbiotic zooxanthellae, but does best when fed a variety of coral foods and frozen foods.
